Leopard & Fuchsia Accents

Old Navy Eyelet Dress - similar herehere, or here | Abercrombie & Fitch Denim Vest - similar | Alice + Olivia Leopard Loafers - save/crave | Stella McCartney Pembridge Crossbody (used as a clutch) | Forever 21 Belt - similar | Michael Kors Watch

Hey everyone! I apologize for the one week hiatus, but I'm finally back :) Today's outfit is a look I wore out to dinner with my family, and it's perfect for a summer night out. I'm usually not a huge fan of black dresses for the summer since it feels a bit heavier, but this one had a cute eyelet detailing and an A-line cut that feels more seasonally appropriate. I dressed it down with a light wash denim vest, but added some fun feminine flare with a cute bow belt to cinch the waist and a pop of bright pink. Like mentioned above, this is actually the crossbody version of the Stella McCartney Pembridge bag, but it's easily turned into a clutch by tucking in the long strap. I slipped on my leopard print calf hair loafers from Alice + Olivia just for another extra pop, but hey, let's be real - we all wear leopard like it's a neutral ;)

And just a tip - the denim vest is making it's way back (even though some of you still might hate it, but girl you shall fall prey eventually...it always happens. Deny, deny, but eventually you buy and buy!!) So when shopping for one, it's actually kind of difficult because I know I had some trouble. I personally prefer a medium to lighter wash with some distressing since it ends up styling better with more color palettes, and though you may think a cropped version works better for dresses, the denim vest actually looks better when it hits at the waist.

Thanks again for reading, and I'll catch you in my next one!

  1. Super cute Erica, I love the leopard print with the fuchsia. I have yet to own a denim vest, I'm not quite sure how to style them into my wardrobe, do you have any tips? :)

  5. Thanks Christine! I actually treat it like a denim jacket, except it's perfect for the hotter weather :) Super easy to throw on over any dress or skirt, and I've also worn it with bright floral jeans and a simple white tee. I've seen it styled with the embellished button down oxford I have in white from J.Crew with a pair of trousers and pumps, but I don't think the wash of my vest would look good with that top. But with a medium wash, it looked really chic!

I just purchased a denim vest for fall and I am totally loving it, too! Your fuchsia clutch is adorable, just like your blog :)
