Canvas Chevron + Worn-In Leathers

Joe Fresh Tee - last seen here | Free People Jeans - different color here | Blowfish Sandals - old; similar here | Vintage Coach Purse | Stella&Dot, Forever 21 Rings | Michael Kors Watch

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's the last day of May - this month just flew by and we are now basking in a glorious East Coast heat wave. Lately, I've been buying a lot of bottoms because I've lost some weight these past six months so many of my pants have become too big. I picked up these Free People jeans a couple of weeks ago, and I was initially very hesitant because the pattern looked a bit questionable hanging on the rack. However, after trying them on I was pleasantly surprised. I'm actually quite fond of the chevron print that gives the jean a very canvas-y tribal look. I paired it with one of my favorite tees from Joe Fresh to add a bit more personality with the polka dot sequins, but I didn't want to lose the tribal feel of the print so I added some warm, worn-in leathers with my accessories and shoes. Thanks so much for reading!

XOXO,
E ♥

Cotton Candy Skies

J. Crew Cardigan | Top from Macy's | BLANKNYC Jeans - love these, similar here | Coach Bag - similar here | J. Crew Belt - similar here | DV by Dolce Vita Espadrilles - similar here | Michael Kors Watch

Hey! Hope everyone is having a good week so far! Today's outfit is my rendition of what I like to call the cotton candy pairing aka a playful pink and blue combination. I'm always a bit hesitant to pair lighter pinks and blues together because of the aforementioned cotton candy syndrome or the fear of having it appear too much like a baby shower...lol. However, it's always fun to take one of these tricky combinations and create a chic outfit. I picked up these bright blue pants last summer from Madewell and I wanted to see what other pairing I could come up with aside from just a plain white. I love this Jackie cardigan from J.Crew, particularly for its adorable gold anchor button, and it made for a pretty cute match overall with the minimally ruffled top! Unfortunately, the one I have is all sold out, but they do have other colors both online and in-store. What are some color combinations that you are hesitant to try out? Let me know in the comments below!

XOXO,
E ♥

Monochrome Peplum

J.Crew Cardigan - similar here and here | Mossimo Peplum Top | BLANKNYC Jeans | Ditto by Van Eli Pumps - old | J.Crew Factory Necklace - similar here | Michael Kors Watch

Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend (and doing lots of shopping on your day off!) It got a bit chilly again here on the East Coast during the weekend so I decided to take my animal print peplum top out for its first spin since I wanted to keep it monochrome, but the black & white combo isn't something I automatically gravitate towards when it's warmer out. Peplum's been around for awhile now but this is the first peplum piece I've purchased because I've been extremely picky about choosing the peplum top, aka one that was different from the norm. As you all know, I'm big on patterns, so I loved that this was a very subtle black and white animal print. Moreover, it was extremely affordable while being a lot more luxe than its price tag. However, the only downside to peplum (in my opinion) is that at certain angles of being photographed, it almost made me look preggers (no bueno). But hey, if you're carrying a secret love child, you now know the perfect top to hide that lovely baby bump...lol.

On Friday, I hit up the J.Crew Factory store for its Memorial Day weekend sale, and I was pleased to find an additional 50% off the entire store. I picked up this necklace which I am literally head over heels in love with. Typically, J.Crew jewelry is way out of my price range, which breaks my heart since their designs are great quality and so gorgeous, so I was very happy to find this piece that didn't break the bank. You guys will definitely be seeing much more of this necklace in the upcoming months being that it is my latest "love" item from my collection. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you in the next one!

Brambleberry Maxi + Blue Lace

American Rag Denim Jacket - similar | Lace Top via TJMaxx - similar | BCBGeneration Skirt | Vintage Dooney and Bourke Bag - similar | DV by Dolce Vita Espadrille Wedges - similar | Belt Unknown | Michael Kors Watch | Stella&Dot Bracelet

It is currently graduation season for those of us in college or with friends in college, and oddly I always find myself gravitating towards something maxi when I attend graduation - refer to this post for what I wore to my cousin's graduation last year (oops, caught redhanded wearing the same denim jacket)! I found this skirt about a week ago at Lord & Taylor and I fell in love with the floral print. I also really appreciate the high slit which makes it a lot more airy since polyester can be a bit suffocating no matter how thin it is. My tip for wearing anything patterned is to find a color from inside the pattern and match correspondingly. I usually like to choose a color that's a lesser part of the pattern for more of a contrast. With maxis, the easiest thing to throw on if it's a bit chilly is a denim jacket, and the light denim of this one match perfectly with my skirt! Last, I chose one of my favorite vintage finds as my bag, which also doubled as my camera bag for the day because it stores my DSLR perfectly when I keep the lens and body separate :) Let me know in the comments below what your go-to outfit is for an event like graduation, and a special congratulations to all the graduates out there who follow my blog!! Catch you in my next one!

Raspberry Mint Sorbet

Club Monaco Tee | Forever 21 Jeans - similar | J. Crew Belt - similar | DV by Dolce Vita Wedges - similar, last seen here | Michael Kors Watch | Dogeared Necklace

Happy Friday! Another week has gone by so quickly, which is not surprising when it's summer vacation, and the week which started out unseasonably chilly has ended with true May weather here on the East Coast. Lately, I've been in the mood for lots of bright colors, so the other day I decided to bust out the mint jeans I mentioned in my last post and paired it with my bright pink 'Sunny Tee' from Club Monaco that I can't seem to get enough of since I just wore it a little over a week ago. I love the mint and raspberry pink combo because it reminds me of sorbet and it feels so fresh and summery (I'm making myself crave something frozen and delicious from looking at these pictures!). For me, this is a super casual and lightweight outfit, but it's always fun to see what combos you can make from your simple jeans and a t-shirt. What's your favorite jeans and t-shirt look?? Let me know in the comments below :) Hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Beauty Diaries Volume VI: The World's Best Face Wash (Review)

Erno Laszlo 'Sea Mud' Deep Cleansing Bar for Normal/Combination Skin

Image taken from Nordstrom.com.
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post!

Hi beauties :) Today I'm back with another rant and rave beauty diaries post, and today's hot topic is something I've been absolutely loving like "oh my gosh where have you been all my life" kind of love. Today's product is Erno Laszlo's 'Sea Mud' Deep Cleansing Bar for Normal/Combination Skin ($39 - didn't have any luck buying it in store, so if you want to try it out I'd order it online. If you hate it, well good thing Nordstrom takes back anything!). I'm a huge skincare/beauty geek and I love trying out new products to find that one holy grail item that does wonders to my skin and I won't be able to live without. In all my years of being a self-proclaimed beauty connoisseur, there have only been a handful of items I've come to fall deeply in love with, both of which are skincare items - Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion and Kiehl's Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner. Find my review here (I've been using both products for 5+ years). I've been using this cleansing bar for almost a month now, and I've never seen my skin look or feel better!! It will definitely be an item I will repurchase time and time again for years to come so I wanted to share the wealth with all of you because who doesn't love healthy, beautiful skin??

The magic:

1) Fading post-acne scars - Usually my acne scars around my forehead and nose area don't last very long, but I have a huge problem with acne scars of the side of my cheeks. The last time I got acne there was around 4 years ago, but in the last few months I got a few pimples there and from past experience the scars have taken 3+ months to heal completely. This time around, I also had some problems with not only dark scarring but feeling a bump under my skin still, meaning the bacteria inside was still there and would eventually lead to future acne in the same spot. However, after around 1-2 weeks using the cleansing bar, my skin is completely smooth and all signs of dark scarring has faded drastically

2) Controlling and preventing zits - I have combination skin, so I'm more prone to getting acne in my t-zone (mostly my forehead/hairline area). I've noticed that the cleansing bar has helped reduce my acne by a great deal and helps any stray zits I get here and there disappear in just a couple days.

3) Cleaning out pores - I have definitely seen a visible improvement in terms of reducing blackheads and minimizing the size of pores. No, you can't actually physically shrink your pores, but if they are cleaner, they appear smaller!

4) Healthy, glowing skin - Overall, I feel like it gives my skin a very healthy glow instead of looking dull. I think this is due largely in part to the fact that it cleans very well, which helps your skin absorb toner and moisturizer better leading to overall healthier and more beautiful skin :)

The only con I can think of:

Price! I know $39 is not cheap to most people for skincare since drugstore options are much more affordable and seem to do a decent job. But I've tried my fair share of drugstore cleansers - Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, St. Ives, etc. and none compare (I find them quite drying). This bar is supposed to last roughly 6-9 months if you use it twice daily which actually means the price isn't all that ostentatious!

How to use:

I've read some reviews of people feeling displeased with the product and I think it's because they're not using the product correctly. The directions aren't all too descriptive on the packaging but this is how I was taught to use it.
1) Fill your sink a little less than halfway with warm water
2) Run the cleansing bar under the water until the water becomes murky with the color of the cleanser
3) With the extra residue left on your hands, use this first to wash your face
4) Rinse your face with the water in the sink 30 times
5) Rinse again with just water
6) Repeat day and night!

This can also be used on your body so if anyone struggles with back and/or chest acne I think it's worth a shot. I am currently just starting to try that out since it's something I have yet to find a solution for, so if it works out I'll let you know! If anyone tries this product out, please let me know your thoughts! I'd love to hear, and I hope this review was helpful!

XOXO,
E ♥

Tropical Floral

Top (Urban Outfitters - similar here and here) | Bottoms (Forever 21) | Shoes (DV by Dolce Vita - gift) | Bag (Forever 21 - similar here) | Watch (Michael Kors) | Bracelet (Pandora) | Rings (Tiffany&Co., Ariella Collection)

Happy Tuesday! We've been having a bit chillier weather that's more unusual for May lately, but that's alright with me because the sun is shining and life is glorious now that it's summer vacation! I'm a big floral girl and I'm attracted to anything floral from tops to jeans to skirts and shorts, even to shoes and accessories. I found this top on my birthday at the beginning of the year when UO was having their additional 50% off sale, and scored it for a ridiculous amount of $5. I haven't found an opportunity for it until now because I felt it paired much better with a lighter bottom, and my lighter denim jeans are all pretty thin and only worn during the spring/summer months. I decided to be bold and pulled from the pale yellow hues in the floral print and matched it with my light yellow jeans from F21. I'm usually not a big fan of Forever 21's denim because I find the material to be uncomfortable and slightly cheap. However, I have a pair of these in both yellow and mint, and I like them quite a lot so if you're in the market for some colored denim at an affordable price, I would suggest these. If you prefer a little better quality, these ones from Gap are also a great option!

This black faux leather bowler bag has easily become one of my go-to handbags which has also pleasantly surprised me. I originally bought it for work last summer because I didn't want to worry about ruining one of my nicer handbags transporting in and out of the city. It's held up quite well and has been mistaken for a much higher end bag than it really is. Not to sound like a handbag snob or a snob in general, but I usually prefer leather handbags because I think they're worth the investment for both style and longterm quality. However, I do believe every girl should own a bag that they can throw around but still looks stylish and of decent quality. What kind of bag do you opt for?? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for stopping by! :)

E ♥

Petal Pink

Jacket (MICHAEL Michael Kors - old) | Top (Club Monaco - on sale here) | Pants (Rich and Skinny - similar here) | Scarf (Cynthia Rowley) | Shoes (Talbots - vintage) | Purse (Coach) | Watch (Michael Kors) | Bracelet (Pandora)

I can't believe it's already the first week of May! Time sure flies, but at least it's finally consistently feeling like perfect spring weather out. Stil looking pretty sickly in some of these photos, but at least my semester is finally over tomorrow as I finish up my exams. It's a pretty nostalgic and bittersweet time for me as many of my senior friends graduate from college and enter the real world, which is both daunting and exciting. Because I've been feeling a bit under the weather, I decided to contrast my own glum and lethargic mood with some bright colors! I used to be so afraid of wearing a bold pink color but lately I've been finding myself putting together outfits and ransacking my closet for a bright pink top to match. I found this one at Club Monaco last month and picked it up because it was exactly what I'd been searching for! If you're on the market for a bright pink tee that's perfect for spring, I highly recommend this one. Quality is great and for a loose, baggy top it's ironically slimming! I went with different shades of pink today and chose my light peachy pink Rich and Skinny jeans (they have a slight champagne sparkle up close, which I realized the following morning had shed all over my car seat!) and a beautiful pink/orange/yellow scarf from Cynthia Rowley. I topped it off with a structured white jacket from MK which is another piece that I've owned since HS and never wore (yes, I'm a clothing hoarder but I don't regret it!). Let me know in your comments below what some of your favorite spring time pairings are! Thanks for reading, and to my college girlies - good luck with finals!! My fashion tip for studying and taking exams - put some effort into what you wear. If you feel put together your mind will automatically feel more alert and ready to focus :)

E ♥
