Leopard & Fuchsia Accents

Old Navy Eyelet Dress - similar herehere, or here | Abercrombie & Fitch Denim Vest - similar | Alice + Olivia Leopard Loafers - save/crave | Stella McCartney Pembridge Crossbody (used as a clutch) | Forever 21 Belt - similar | Michael Kors Watch

Hey everyone! I apologize for the one week hiatus, but I'm finally back :) Today's outfit is a look I wore out to dinner with my family, and it's perfect for a summer night out. I'm usually not a huge fan of black dresses for the summer since it feels a bit heavier, but this one had a cute eyelet detailing and an A-line cut that feels more seasonally appropriate. I dressed it down with a light wash denim vest, but added some fun feminine flare with a cute bow belt to cinch the waist and a pop of bright pink. Like mentioned above, this is actually the crossbody version of the Stella McCartney Pembridge bag, but it's easily turned into a clutch by tucking in the long strap. I slipped on my leopard print calf hair loafers from Alice + Olivia just for another extra pop, but hey, let's be real - we all wear leopard like it's a neutral ;)

And just a tip - the denim vest is making it's way back (even though some of you still might hate it, but girl you shall fall prey eventually...it always happens. Deny, deny, but eventually you buy and buy!!) So when shopping for one, it's actually kind of difficult because I know I had some trouble. I personally prefer a medium to lighter wash with some distressing since it ends up styling better with more color palettes, and though you may think a cropped version works better for dresses, the denim vest actually looks better when it hits at the waist.

Thanks again for reading, and I'll catch you in my next one!

Paisley & Neutrals

Joe Fresh Silk Shirt | Ann Taylor Loft Skirt | J.Crew Necklace | J.Crew Belt | Kelly & Katie Pumps | Michael Kors Watch

Hey everyone! Today's outfit is a look from the weekend, and unfortunately it will be the only post for the week since I will be away and was unable to get up two posts - sorry!! I got this skirt the same time I bought the dress from my Citrus & Neons post. It was on final sale though, so you probably won't find it unless you check out your local Loft store and see if they still have it in stock. It's a pretty long skirt, so it's very work appropriate, and pairs easily with any cream or mustard top. I decided to pair it with a light silk blouse and accent it with my J.Crew necklace for an extra little pop of color and sparkle. Hope you enjoy today's look, and thanks for reading!! Have a good one :)

XOXO,
E ♥

Summer Blues

Hey everyone! As I was sitting here writing the brands for each clothing article, I realized I went just a little J.Crew overboard for this outfit...more like the entire outfit is J.Crew. Oops! What can I say...I'm a die-hard fan and I'd literally fill my closet with their pieces if I could. I've been eyeing this top for a couple months now, and finally just went ahead and purchased it last week along with this necklace. Oddly, I couldn't find this necklace online, but it is most definitely in stores! On the hanger, this top doesn't look like much. I was never a big fan of short sleeve oxfords or popover button-downs because I simply preferred a long sleeve that I could roll up and the option of having buttons going all the way down because it seemed more "versatile" to me. However, I've seen multiple people wearing this shirt and there was no denying it...it looks good on everyone. No exaggeration. Not only that, it also looks great dressed up or down with pants, skirts, and even shorts. Pretty sure I'm going to wear the life out of this top. What's your staple for a dress down, dress up piece in your closet?? Let me know! Thanks for reading :)

XOXO,
E ♥

Citrus & Neons

Ann Taylor Dress | Crewcuts Belt - similar | J.Crew Necklace - similar | Ann Taylor Heels - similar | Michael Kors Watch

Hey everyone! I'm a day late on this post since I got a bit lazy this past weekend - sorry about that! But definitely expect another post this upcoming Thursday :) Today's outfit is pretty simple, but with lots of fun colors. With the exception of the creamsicle orange, this color palette reminds me of lemonade - a classic lemonade, pink lemonade, and limeade. It's making me seriously thirsty, and I almost wish I was from LA so I could grab a drink from Lemonade to go along with this outfit. I got this dress probably two weeks ago from Ann Taylor when they were having an additional 60% off dresses, so it was quite the steal. It's a bit long though, so I had to use a belt to cinch in the waist and shorten the hem a bit. I'd recommend the petite size for a better length, which is what I originally tried on, but the lace on that one was a bit snagged (and for reference, I'm really not so petite at all - I'm 5'5, but found the regular size to be a little too long and "matronly").

On another note, I got an unexpected email from Lucky magazine informing me that their editors had chosen my Sweatshirt Tee + Turquoise Accent post to be featured on their homepage newsfeed as the "Cute Outfit of the Day",  how to dress up jeans without going overboard. I thought this was super exciting so I wanted to share it with you all. Check it out here!

Thanks as always for reading, and I'll see you Thursday!

E ♥

Say Hello to Fall (Part 3): Workwear Denim + Jewel Details

Hey everyone! Happy Friday :) I'm back again with another pair of relaxed fit boyfriend jeans (clearly a new obsession). Since I had a pair that were a lighter wash, I pounced on the opportunity to get a darker wash pair, especially since the ones at Aeropostale were a more tapered fit that I prefer versus  the typical boyfriend that's more baggy and destroyed. Like my pair from Rich and Skinny, these jeans are also very comfortable with the perfect stretch and that worn-in feel. Because last week's posts with my boyfriend jeans were both more casual, along with my two casual posts from earlier this week, I decided it was time to put on my big girl pants for a dressier pairing.

I've been mulling over what to pair the J.Crew Tilda top with for quite some time. I love the idea of a very feminine/dressy top paired with boyfriend jeans and a good pair of heels, so I decided that today was the day Tilda finally got to see the light of day. Because the jeans are so casual, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit structured and tasteful - again with the juxtaposition. With a top like this one, it's important to keep the canvas "bare" in the sense that whatever is layered over it can't be too busy - hence the collarless blazer. How do you guys style your boyfriend jeans? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading, and have a fantastic weekend :)

Say Hello to Fall (Part 2): Light Layers + Paneled Lace

Kenar Anorak Jacket - similar | Crochet Tunic c/o Aeropostale | Joe Fresh Jeggings - similar | Sam Edelman Boots - similar | J.Crew Socks | Forever 21 Necklace | Michael Kors Watch | Stella&Dot Bracelet

Hi everyone! Today's look is my favorite kind of outfit to throw together for school because it's so easy while still being trendy. I thought this top was so beautiful with the lace trim and panel detailing paired with it's length and the way it flows. I can see it being worn through nearly all the seasons with the exception of winter. It makes me feel free - like I belong in a field of wild flowers and tall grass, surrounded by the perfect golden glow of the afternoon sun. Then again, it also reminds me of something from Free People, which makes me wonder if that's why the brand is named Free People??

Anyways, I've seen this top paired with the floral camo anorak (from my last post) by a lot of people, so I decided to go with this particular jacket to switch it up a bit. My mom calls this my hobo jacket, which I find extremely offensive because I happen to like it very much, lol. However, the floral camo anorak is definitely a great match and also cuts at the perfect length. To keep the palette more autumn themed, I went with a pair of burgundy jeggings and added a pair of socks to layer with my combat boots which I frequent on this blog. Thanks as always for reading, and I'll see you Friday!!

E ♥

Say Hello To Fall (Part 1): Redefined Camo + Drop-Waist Dress

Hey everyone! I have some exciting things planned for the blog this week! If you follow me on Instagram, or have noticed on the side bar of my blog, you'll see that I've been invited to join the Aeropostale VIP blogger program (super exciting, and couldn't be more thankful!!!). I remember the days when I used to be an avid Aero shopper, their butterfly logo polos were all the rage. They've since revamped the entire way they're being branded and have come out with a lot of cool, very trendy pieces for the fall. I picked out a few items that you'll see throughout the week, and I hope you enjoy the pairings I came up with as fall slowly creeps upon us and we get ready for the brisk weather and some back to school shopping :)

Today's outfit is a piece I knew I had to pick up the moment I saw it on Aeropostale's Instagram feed. It's an anorak jacket with a floral camo print - I mean hello, completely sold. I've been wanting a camo jacket for months, and the anorak jacket is one of my favorite styles so this jacket was essentially my match made in fashion heaven. It's also a bit more feminine/unique with its floral camo print versus a regular camo. I'm seeing this as a closet staple throughout the fall - perfect for mixing, matching, and of course, layering! Because I love the juxtaposition of something tough plus something sweet, I combined the jacket with a cutesy drop-waist dress with beautiful eyelet/lace detailing from Abercrombie and studded ankle booties. The dress is currently on a ridiculous steal price with A&F's additional 60% off clearance sale. I bought it as a dupe to this dress by Madewell (there's a cream one in-stores), which was 7x more expensive. What's going to be your closet staple for the fall? Let me know in the comments below, and thanks for reading!!

Sweatshirt Tee + Turquoise Accent (Part 2)

J.Crew Boyfriend Sweatshirt Tee | Rich & Skinny Jeans - similar wash | Roxy Sandals (old) - similar | Handmade Statement Necklace (gift by a family friend) | Michael Kors Watch

Hey everyone, and happy August! Today is the part 2 to Wednesday's part 1 feature of these Rich & Skinny relax fit jeans!  I think every Friday should be a mandatory casual look to segway into the weekend. I feel like today's outfit is very "boyfriend" themed, as my tee is coincidentally called the summerweight boyfriend sweatshirt, paired with my boyfriend-style relax fit jeans. Because the entire outfit was more on the slouchy side, I decided to add some color and tie it together a bit with one of my all time favorite statement necklaces. I love this necklace not only because it's handmade and unique, but it always reminds me of the ocean and I think it's all-in-all beautifully made. Last, I threw on my favorite pair of sandals as of late, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a very similar pair online by Chinese Laundry because the ones I own are actually many many years old (one of those things I bought and wore twice before forgetting about all together until the past few months).
Though today's outfit is probably just as casual, if not more, than Wedneday's pairing, I feel like the overall aura of the outfit is slightly different and I wanted to share a couple ideas of how to style a pair of jeans like this. I am still on a search for a truer boyfriend style jean, so if those do make their way into my denim collection, I'm sure you'll see them here on my blog :) As always, thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoy your weekend!!

XOXO,
E ♥
