Wanderlust

I've been searching and searching for the perfect wool wide-brim hat in a burgundy color, and I've finally hit the jackpot! I scored this baby last week at Forever 21 for a very affordable and reasonable $19, so I couldn't wait to style it and share with you all. I've always loved hats, but when I was younger I was never bold enough to wear one out in public because I thought they made too much of a statement (silly me!). I feel like I've been wearing a lot of burgundy and navy lately as separates, but it's never been a palette that I've combined as one. Typically, I like to pair burgundy with warm tones like creams, blushes, and camel, but it's always fun to switch things up to see what new pairings we can discover and fall in love with! 

I feel like this hat takes me to other places, and in this outfit I feel like a traveler - hence the title "Wanderlust". I could easily see myself wandering down the cobblestone streets of a beautiful European country in this outfit - if only! It's always been a dream of mine to travel the world and experience new cultures, try different foods, and of course, open my eyes to the fashion and trends happening in other countries.  

And we can't forget the pants! I had no trouble picking a favorite this week because hands down, no questions asked, my favorite pants will always and forever be my J.Crew pixie pants. These pants are literally the fashion gods' gift to womankind and I'm almost 100% positive that they've made more appearances on this blog than any other item in my wardrobe. They've been with me from the most dressed up business casual to the most dressed down everyday outfit where they double as the leggings you can wear in public with absolutely no shame. I haven't met a single person on which they don't look good on, and if you don't fancy just plain black, well don't worry - it comes in navy, charcoal, and trimmed with leather. If I had to choose one pair of pants to wear for the rest of my life, it would be my pixies. And honestly, if it was socially acceptable and somehow hygienic, I probably would wear these 24/7. I kid you not.
