Something Old, Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue {and a silver sixpence in your shoe}. A phrase commonly associated with weddings but a phrase invariably associated with my everyday wardrobe.

There is nothing new about this outfit besides the fact that it is a "new" pairing composed of old classics from my closet. Believe it or not, I've had this top since roughly my sophomore year of high school. Do the math, it's probably six or seven years old now. Should I feel ashamed in admitting I still have the clothes from that time in my life? Or conversely, we can just agree that at the ripe young age of fifteen, I wasn't making such shabby life decisions for myself.

Ironically, or maybe not ironically, these shorts are probably only a few years younger than this top. I can safely say that they are at least four years old, if not more. I will admit, however, that at the time of purchase, these shorts were probably ill-fitting since I was much more bottom heavy and had a bootay that could give Kim K a run for her money.
I kid. My hips do lie, and my bum game was never that fierce. It's probably why these shorts still look like they were purchased yesterday.

Excuse the wrinkling. The iron and I are not friends, so I justify wrinkles by saying it adds character. But real talk - if I could slap a monogram on all my accessories I'm pretty sure I would.
