Resolve

A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.

With a new year should always come new resolutions no matter how big or small. I took on quite a few more than usual this year because I now feel like I have the obligation to be a little more responsible. Some of them are a bit more personal, so I won't share them all, but here are a few of the biggies.

1) Travel: One of my biggest regrets coming out of school is never studying abroad. I have so many aspirations to travel the world and see all these beautiful places and experience their culture. I think there is so much you can learn from going to new places and immersing yourself in diversity that you can't find at home. I have a couple trips already on my radar this year, and I'm ready to let my travel bug loose!

2) Take risks: I'm a very cautious person and rarely do I ever step out of the box. I always err on the side of caution because I'd rather be safe than sorry. However, in my last post I talked about seizing the day and learning to get more out of each day of life. In 2015 I really want to take more risks and be a little spontaneous, just let life run its course and see where it takes me without always reading too far into the fine print.

3. Be the best me: Quite the broad statement, right? At the moment, I'm kind of attacking this from the health and fitness aspect. I used to be such the workout fiend and was in tip top shape back in my athlete days. I haven't worked out since I quit my gym membership nearly two years ago, so I finally decided its time to jump back on the bandwagon. I'm the type of person that is completely self-motivated, which generally means that any sort of convincing or bribing from those around me could never convince me to get back into fitness unless it was something I truly desired myself. But something in my clicked a couple months ago, and I decided I wanted to strive to become the best version of myself that I could be, starting with looking great and feeling great from the inside out!

I'd love to hear some of your New Year resolutions in the comments. Now that I've written this here for all of you to read, I feel like I'm now held accountable to make serious strides and reach these goals. Here's to a better and brighter year!!
