While hurricane Sandy is raging outside I am here furiously editing away to get this post up before the power and/or internet goes out! I got this top about two weeks ago from Forever 21, and I'm loving it. I'm super excited about this bow tie trend that's coming around because I can now finally find shirts with the bow tie built into it. A few months back I really wanted to start adding bow ties to my outfits, but I couldn't find any that were meant for that. But now it's no longer a problem! If you browse through the Forever 21 website, you'll find an assortment of shirts that have this look - unfortunately I could no longer find this specific top online.

This outfit reminds me of Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl (one of my all time favorite shows, and yes I'm very sad that it's the last season!!). It's super preppy but also conservative, just like the Queen B herself. I've worn this shirt a couple of times now, and it's versatile both for dressing up or down - either way it's an extremely girly top. But in honor of my favorite character in GG, the pleated skirt was a must for me :) I kept the accessories very minimal, but wore big crystal studs to draw the attention up. And with a top like this, a necklace is a complete no no! I chose a gold bag because a black bag was too dark and actually dragged the outfit down, so if you don't have a gold bag, I would suggest either a nude or a pop of color! However, if you do go black, a small cross body bag with some gold chain detailing could work!

Hope you enjoy the outfit, and for all of those in the line of hurricane Sandy, stay inside and stay safe!!

Friday Feature: Menswear for Women

Blazer (Forever 21 - old) | Top (TJ Maxx) | Pants (Paige via Anthropologie) | Shoes (Vintage - Talbots) | Bag (Longchamp)
All Photos and Edits are E ♥ Originals

It is once again the weekend so as always I am back with my Friday Feature :) This week I thought I'd share with you all a very laidback way to sport menswear for women. The navy blazer and khaki look is a classic menswear look, and my sister Pam gave it a twist with a touch of femininity with her tiered lace top. She chose a fitted blazer with plaid lining, which also adds a nice bit of detail. Her shoes and belt are both in a classic cognac leather, but the thin belt and detailed loafers soften the masculinity. Overall, her outfit is great for a casual day out with just enough layers to keep you warm!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Tickled Pink

Sweater (J. Crew - similar here) | Top (Joe Fresh - past season) | Jeans (Madewell) | Scarf (Pac Sun) | Watch (MK) | Earrings (Forever 21) | Shoes (Vintage - Talbots)
Photos by the sister, edits by E ♥

It's been pretty gloomy here all day, so I thought I'd brighten up the day with a fun and colorful outfit :) I really love this outfit because it's comfortable with subtle hints of detail and pattern mixing and it's also very bold and vibrant. I've been wanting a hot pink cardigan like this one for the longest time, so when I found this one at J. Crew I knew I had to have it, especially because it has awesome gold hardware for buttons that makes it look expensive even though it is just a plain cotton cardigan.

For my top I chose a cream colored tee from Joe Fresh that has cute sequin polka dots. I've found that this shirt is very versatile and adds great detail to any outfit. Because it is a bit chilly, I threw on a floral infinite scarf from Pac Sun that has similar pink hues as my cardigan. Though I am mixing polka dots with sequins and floral, the look altogether works because one pattern is more subdued than the other.

For my bottoms I have on super dark wash high risers from Madewell and a pair of vintage loafers in my favorite cognac color. And last but not least, my favorite part of all these photos is the fall foliage :)

I hope this outfit inspired you all to add a kick of color into your fall wardrobe, and I'll see you all tomorrow!

Neiman Marcus Collaborates with Target for Holiday 2012!

Before anything, I want to give a big thank you to ALL of my supportive readers and followers who come by my blog time and time again. Lela Rose Top ($69.99) - seriously in love ♥ probably one of my favorite pieces from the collection

Marchesa Girl's Beaded Dress ($99.99) - yes it is a dress for little girls, but it is absolutely precious

Prabal Gurung Cape ($79.99) - capes are making their way back in and this one would be beautiful over an evening dress for a holiday party

Oscar De La Renta Tote ($59.99) - canvas tote with floral detailing

Robert Rodriguez Dress ($99.99) - lace overlay with a fitted bodice

Tracy Reese Blouse ($79.99) - sequined detailing

I remember reading a couple months back that Target was going to be doing a collection with Neiman Marcus, and here it finally is!! First, with the important details :) It will be releasing in stores and online, both at Target and  Neiman Marcus, on December 1st (and yes, it is all limited edition)!! I nearly died when I saw this collection because it is completely swoon-worthy. If most of you are familiar with Neiman Marcus prices and more importantly the name brands you find there, you'll know that these items are all coming at a steal. I mean, Brian Atwood leather gloves for fifty bucks?! His items are usually in the hundreds to thousands of dollars. So that comparison alone should give you a good idea as to how much these items are marked down at.

I posted mostly clothing and accessories, but the collection also consists of many great holiday gifts, from a Tory Burch thermos to a Derek Lam skateboard! And to add to the holiday spirit, Neiman Marcus and Target will be making a combined $1 million dollar donation to the Council of Fashion Designers of America. I don't know how fast this collection is going to sell out, but I know that I am personally eyeing those gloves and that top from Lela Rose! They are my two must-haves.

So mark your calendars and merry holiday shopping!!

Shine On

Top (TJMaxx) | Bottoms (Joe Fresh - corduroy style here!) | Shoes (Me Too) | Watch (MK) | Bag (Coach)

It was a beautiful fall day here where I live, so I wanted to share with you all another outfit that's perfect for the day time with just a bit of sparkle :)

As we all know, bib collars are so in right now - especially the sequined sparkly sorts! I fell in love with this shirt the moment I saw it because it had a beautiful collar and could be worn alone or layered under a knit sweater with only the collar popping out, (I've worn it with a button down cashmere cardigan and it looks like the collar is part of the cardi!) making it very versatile.

Though this shirt would be adorable with a metallic skirt like this (paired with some black tights and awesome black pumps or booties), I decided to dress it down with my burgundy jeggings from Joe Fresh. Unfortunately, Joe Fresh is not available for purchase online so you'll have to find a store near you! But their pants are usually a very reasonable price for pretty good quality, and these jeggings have become one of my staples for this season. I kept the colors dark because it is fall, but I didn't want everything to seem drab or too heavy, so I paired the look with nude flats that have just the slightest kitten heel which makes it very feminine.

Because the collar is so sparkly, I have very little jewelry on - just my rose gold Michael Kors "Blair" watch and some small gold/silver rings I wear on a daily basis. I added a final accent with my gold handbag from Coach, which is another piece you guys will see popping up in a lot of my posts :)

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday enjoying the fall weather!

Friday Feature: A Classic Silhouette

Jacket (Talbots) | Top (H&M) | Pants (Cynthia Steffe) | Shoes (Latitude Femme) | Belt (J. Crew) | Accessories (Forever 21)
Photos and Edits are E♥ originals :)

Happy Friday! After a tough exam this morning, I'm glad it's finally the weekend. The weather is quite gloomy and to be honest, all I want to do is snuggle up in my pajamas and catch up on my television shows :) But before I do that, I had to share with you all another outfit!

I am loving this look my sister put together. She took an all-black outfit and created a very classic look that's conservative but modern and chic. I have a new found love for structured jackets like this one. They're very Chanel-esque, especially when they come in a black and white tweedy material. Here are a few that I'm currently loving and/or ogling from afar: J. Crew | Forever 21 (in black and white) | Zara | Zara.

Because these jackets are more boxy, you want something that will hug your figure and that's also figure flattering at the same time. If you wear something too loose or pants that are too wide, it'll make you look bigger than you really are - so that's just something important to keep in mind!

We drew from the gold accents on the shoe's zipper, and kept the accessories fun but minimal. With an outfit like this, you don't want to over-do on the accessories because it'll end up making your outfit look cheap and tacky. In this case, a little bit goes a long way :)

 Happy weekend everyone!!

Fall Time Florals

Jacket (Kenar via TJMaxx - similar here) | Sweater (Madewell - this one's just as cozy!) | Scarf (J. Crew) | Jeans (Mossimo - Target, sold out online but I love these!) | Boots (Uggs) | Watch (MK) | Bag (Coach)
Photos by Alice!; Edits by E ♥

Hay there ;) Okay, terrible pun but I couldn't resist! Today I have a super casual look for everyone, and it's something typical of what I would wear on a normal day to class. I've incorporated some of my favorite fall staples into this look to get a cozy outfit for a day out and about :)

I purchased these jeans recently, but I'm pretty sure they're sold out both online and in stores (at least for me) - so Target came out with a similar pair which I linked above! These are the first pair of jeans I've ever purchased from Target, and I was surprised both by the quality and the cut! They're amazingly comfortable and figure flattering, and I am loving the print to death. These are probably one of my favorite pairs of jeans at the moment and I will wear them until the day that printed/floral jeans are no longer in!

On top I threw on a cozy knit sweater in a cream color that I got from Madewell over the summer. As I've mentioned before, knit pullover sweaters are super in this season, and they're also extremely comfortable and versatile. I pulled from the pink colors in the flowers on my jeans and paired my top with a blush colored scarf from J. Crew that has gold/metallic stripes. It's difficult to pair printed denim with scarves because most scarves have a pattern themselves. I like to play with patterns, so I chose a subtle pattern with a neutral color that matched with the pattern in the jeans. If you want to be safe, you can always choose a solid colored scarf that compliments any other colors that might already be in your outfit.

For my jacket I chose a military green parka that is perfect for fall and also very trending right now. I feel like jackets like these have been popping up for the past couple falls, so this one is actually about two years old. Last, I chose my Ugg ankle boots which I bought recently and haven't stopped wearing since. I love the taupe color because it is so easy to match, and it adds the perfect touch of fall to any outfit.

I hope you liked this look, and check back soon for new upcoming posts!! Thanks again for all the support :)
