In Entirety, for Eternity

“And still, after all this time, the sun never says to the earth,
"You owe Me."
Look what happens with a love like that:
it lights the whole sky.”

Entirely.

A love that loves entirely, for eternity. It makes everything work harmoniously, acting completely and selflessly. It's the kind of love you see -- in the sun and the earth, in the sky and the sea, in the birds and the bees, between a mother and her offspring -- the kind that lights up the whole sky. Sometimes, it takes the loss of this kind of love for one to realize that it was ever present. It's an irreplaceable, incomparable love; it's a love that doesn't ask to be requited. When a love of this magnitude is left unrequited, it is one of the most heart-breaking kinds of love to endure. It will shine so bright and with such intensity until one day, like any naturally born star, it flames out. And when its light dims from the earth, we are left with darkness. A darkness that makes us wonder how we never thought to appreciate the light that once lit up our world. And in turn, one day, we ourselves will shine just as bright to light up the whole sky of someone else's life -- entirely, for eternity.

RC
