"Memories were fine but you couldn't touch them, smell them or hold them. They were never exactly as the moment was, and they faded with time."
One of my biggest fears is forgetting memories because once a memory is gone it is gone forever. For some things or some people all we have left are memories and over time memories will inevitably fade. We remember bits and pieces and we remember the general gist, but we slowly lose the little details of what were once vivid memories. For the ones that are important we constantly replay those memories in our mind - do we remember how they sounded? Do we remember their smile, their laugh, how they carried themselves, their touch, their scent, all the features that run the planes of their face? We live each day hoping to never forget their memory as we also live to always honor it. Miss you always...
