Cloudweight

"We'll go up, up, up but I'll fly a little higher,
We'll go up in the clouds because the view's a little nicer..."
{Zach Sobiech, Clouds}

I have a new pair of booties that I like to clump around in, and their name is Theory. I've actually already worn them once on the blog, but I figured a formal introduction was necessary. For those of you who enjoy shopping just as much as you enjoy breathing {I'm totally kidding -- that would be called addiction} you'll know that each person has a "type", i.e. bags, or shoes, or jeans, etc. When you shop you're naturally inclined to make a beeline for a specific category and you tend to hoard said category more than the others. Before I got into blogging I loved denim; my pride and joy was my vast collection of jeans. But on top of that, I really just liked clothes and I focused a lot less on bags and shoes aka the only sort of BS I ever want to deal with from now on. However, once I started blogging I began realizing how important bags and shoes actually were in completing an outfit. Frankly, they make or break whatever you're wearing. It's interesting the perspective you gain on your outfits through a photograph versus simply looking through a mirror. It's the same perspective I feel like I gain when I'm painting -- I feel like I can see my artwork so much better through a photograph than I can with the naked eye. I periodically take photos of my painting as I work which gives me so much clarity on what I can improve or alter resulting in astoundingly better results. So if you're ever questioning your outfit of choice on a certain day or if you're looking for room to evolve your style I highly suggest looking beyond the mirror and trying to see things through a different lens.
