"Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down."
Acceptance.
Despite my blog being a personal style blog, I like to share a lot of my own thoughts and reflections with you guys. Whether you think so or not, the topics I choose for each post are actually deeply rooted in how an outfit makes me feel. I spend {sometimes} hours picking out or coming up with the perfect quote to be the anchor of my post before I write the supplementary words below. It's not secret that I love fashion, but I also love words - I love thinking, reflecting, and creating. Like how most people journal, I share my thoughts here with you guys. And for me, I can look back and see how I have grown and changed over the years. I started this blog back in college, and my sense of self-identity has changed drastically since then which I think is reflected in both the way I dress myself and the words in which I express myself. They tell you that going into college you have no idea who you are or who you want to become, and for the most part I can't help but agree. I had some semblance of an idea of the things I liked going into college, but it took a lot of trial and error before I found what I loved...and it took many years for me to truly learn how to accept myself, love myself, let go of the things that weighed me down, and boldly move forward. I almost think that the greatest growth happens post-college, when you're given the chance to really become independent without the everyday pressure of feeling like there's a need to conform. There's something beautiful about finding yourself and knowing that you're on your path in life.
