I Love...My Bow Sweater

Sweater (H&M) | Denim Shirt (Forever 21) | Pants (Abercrombie and Fitch) | Boots (Sam Edelman) | Watch (MK)

I'm finally back! The stress and craziness of finals are now long over, meaning this post is also long overdue - I apologize! I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and continues to have the happiest of holidays :)

As promised awhile back, this is a follow-up post featuring my favorite sweater of all time! A Look #2 for those casual days, versus the look featured in this post. <-- check it out if you haven't already! I am slightly obsessed with this sweater, as the multitude of bows are synonymous in my mind with the same kind of joy that rainbows and unicorns bring most of you. Because I'm an avid fan of the layered denim/chambray shirt look, I went ahead and layered that underneath and threw on some khaki pants for more texture - the more the merrier! (Please don't take that too literally - if you walk out of your house looking like a hot mess, aka Lindsay Lohan or pre-reformed Britney, because I said the more the merrier, I am not and will not be held accountable!) Last, I chose my black Sam Edelman boots to toughen up the look, but let's be real, it's because it's quite cold and my feet really don't appreciate flats in the winter. Cold feet = no bueno, both literally and figuratively speaking.

Hope you all enjoyed this look, and thanks for reading!! I love you all :)

XOXO,
E ♥

Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts Under $25

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine

My favorite gift guides are probably ones that are under $50 and under $25. No, not because I'm a cheap asian, but because they're the most practical gift-giving guides. A lot of the time, we're stumped on what to get our friends, and as the typical broke college students we are, no one's trying to spend a fortune on a present unless it's for your BFFFFFFFFF. Was that enough forevers? You get my point.

Once again, I picked out a bunch of things that I personally love but would also be fitting for a variety of personalities and tastes. Some luxurious Butter London polishes (do not be deceived - they're $14 a bottle!) and a cute ring to go with it for all your hand-model friends whose nail beds are just to die for, or a Parisian jewelry holder for your girl friend who thinks she's gonna find her prince charming sitting on top of the Eiffel Tower munching away at some macarons. Pinkies up ladies!!

I'm starting to get creeped out by all the eyes staring at me as I write this (Lauren and Mr. Owl over there), but in all seriousness I recently picked up the Lauren Conrad Style book myself - what a mistake not to get it earlier! If you have a friend who loves fashion she'll love this book. It's like reading an autobiography and more. And if you have a friend who doesn't give a hoot, well maybe an owl mug is just perfect for her.

Hope you all find these gifts helpful! I know I didn't because now I just want to buy them all for myself..! Til next time ;)

XOXO,

Mixing Textures and Patterns

Chambray Shirt (TJ Maxx) | Top (Joe Fresh) | Scarf (Old Navy) | Pants (J Brand) | Shoes (Sam Edelman - last season) | Watch (MK)
Photos by the sister, edits by E ♥

Hi everyone! Today's outfit is a much more casual, everyday outfit compared to the other looks I've posted recently. But it's a compilation of all the things I'm loving for fall: infinity scarves, denim, colored jeans, and boots! I'm serious, I think I've bought five infinity scarves already this season (okay, probably more) and I think it's safe to say I own a pair of pants in every color of the rainbow. I am in no way trying to brag, but am simply expressing my extreme lack of self-control I have when it comes to shopping, and the probable addiction that I have not yet been diagnosed with. Someone please water my wallet cause it's running seriously dry.

I've been told that I have extreme attention to detail (when it comes to certain things...and my room is definitely not one of them). But I think the beauty of this outfit lies in all the little details that set it apart from being just another pair of pants with a t-shirt, a denim shirt, and a scarf. I purposely chose my Joe Fresh top that has sequined polka dots and paired it with a denim shirt. On the bottom I chose burnt orange twill pants from J Brand instead of doing denim on denim. Last, the warm colors in the pants go well with a leopard (cheetah? what's the difference...) print scarf - love the orange paired with the base color of the scarf! Hope you enjoyed this look!!

XOXO,
E ♥

P.S. I looked up the difference. It was leopard! And if you click this link, you will now know the difference between a cheetah and a leopard in the unfortunate case that you are ever attacked by one, cause I know you'll all be checking the pattern of its fur instead of running like your life depends on it! I  call that true fashionista commitment. You go Glenn Coco ;)

Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts Under $50

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight

Hello hello! I've been doing a lot of gift shopping lately, and as we all know gift buying is never easy! I feel like the best gifts are things a person would love but are a bit unconventional or out-of-the-ordinary for a personal purchase. Of course these items are all things that I would gift or would enjoy receiving as a gift, but at the same time I tried to keep all different personalities and sentiments in mind! From a vintage crystal door knob wine stopper for all your classy alcoholic girl friends to an "I Heart Me" compact for all those narcissistic, self-loving friends you have ;) Take your pick, and happy shopping!

XOXO,
E ♥

P.S. I mustache you a question....which salt and pepper set are you going to buy now and shave for later??
Overkill? Probably. Check back soon for more gift ideas under $25 and $100!

Channeling Jackie O

Coat (Juicy Couture - few seasons old) | Cardigan and Dress (Forever 21) | Shoes (Sam Edelman) | Watch (MK)

Happy weekend!! The semester is winding down (FINALLY!) and the weather is getting way too cold. I froze my butt off taking some of these pictures sans jacket. See how much I love you all? ♥

Now I know I am nowhere near as stylish or iconic as Jackie O, but this is my Jackie O outfit and I feel  as classy and conservative as can be in it :) so please don't rain on my parade. I've really taken a liking to black and white (and of course more bows). Forever 21 is a great place to find dresses in my opinion because you always find these unexpected gems at a really great price. The quality is surprisingly good on this dress, and I've had this cardigan for over a year now and it's one of my favorites! The only tricky part was the pockets on this dress. Luckily, my cardigan cut right at the bottom of the pocket - you don't want anything longer, and definitely not shorter!! I think this outfit was fated because I picked up these shoes a few months back and they go perfectly with the outfit. I love the classic tuxedo-like feel of the shoe with the t-strap that make it oh so cute. And paired with my cream peacoat from Juicy, well I either look like a walking black and white cookie or classically stylish. Either way, it'd be described as delectable (unless you hate black and white cookies...) and I'll take that as a compliment ;)

Thanks for reading and for the constant support!! I know I promised a nail tutorial but I broke a nail pretty severely today (while shopping...). Hey, go hard or go home right? I take my shopping pretty seriously. Catch you next time! :)

XOXO,
E ♥

I Love...Kate Spade ♠

Holiday Gift Guide (Kate Spade): Under $100

Find here: one | two | three | four | five

I realized today that I absolutely adore Kate Spade. The brand is very feminine and preppy-conservative but with a whimsical twist on it that just makes me smile. I've always said that if I could own all the clothes from one store it would be J. Crew, but now I think I want both J. Crew and Kate Spade to fill my closet so I could just die in the happiness of bows, vibrant colors, and structured designs.

For this gift giving idea board, I chose five of my favorite jewelry and accessory items from Kate Spade that I either own or have been eyeing for the past couple months. I love this particular Kate Spade phone case because it's very Elizabeth Taylor-esque. As for the jewelry, I can never get enough of bows and pearls, and the "Love Notes" ring is one of my favorite rings in my collection :) Last, I think Kate Spade's winter-time accessories are to die for. They're cute and almost humorous - a tiara hat for all the self-proclaimed princesses out there, and well who can say no to "Hi-5" mittens??

I hope you all love these cute gifts as much as I do!! And I finally figured out how to properly create these collage/boards :) Little did I know, I've had the software all along and just spent the last hour and a half figuring out all the tricks behind these little buggers. So more of these to come! Thanks for reading :)

The Floral Blazer

Blazer (Tommy Hilfiger) | Top (Club Monaco) | Bottoms (Abercrombie and Fitch) | Shoes (Vintage Talbots) | Ring (Kate Spade)
Photos by the sister, edits by E ♥

Hello my lovelies :) I am here today with a rather recent purchase of mine and a pretty unique find in my opinion - the floral blazer! I know this is a rather spring-time look, but I couldn't wait til then to rock this blazer, so I pulled on a long sleeve sweater from Club Monaco and braved the cold. Another great thing about this fall is that you will still see lots of bright colors in stores, so every once in awhile it's nice to change it up and wear some brighter colors rather than the darker muted tones we typically see :)

I have never seen a blazer quite like this one so I knew I had to add it to my blazer collection! It is a very preppy piece in itself, so I went with the flow and layered a long strand of pearls, put in some pearl earrings, and put on one of my favorite rings from Kate Spade. I  hope you like this outfit and I'll be back later this week with some holiday gift giving ideas and also another nail tutorial!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO,

P.S. In case you forgot, the Neiman Marcus and Target collaboration collection is out!! So check it out here!

Bows Are A Girl's Best Friend

Jacket (Marc Jacobs - past season) | Sweater (H&M - haven't seen it online but have seen it in multiple stores!) | Belt (Forever 21) | Skirt (TJ Maxx - almost identical here) | Boots (Franco Sarto) | Earrings (Kate Spade - almost identical here)
Photos by the sister, edits by E ♥

Hello again! Today I'm sharing with you all one of my favorite outfits for this fall/winter. I absolutely adore bows, so when I saw this sweater at H&M I think I died a little inside. I've come to discover that some things from H&M are actually much better quality than Forever 21 - this sweater included. I would consider this a staple piece for my fall/winter wardrobe. I actually put together another outfit with this same sweater that's more casual, and I will be sharing it with you all in the near future! So if the adorableness of this sweater hasn't convinced you already, it's actually surprisingly warm, not scratchy at all, and it almost feels like there's two layers of fabric rather than one.

I paired it with a mustard yellow skirt in a decently heavy fabric which is very fall appropriate. I love the cut and length of this skirt because it's very preppy conservative and extremely J. Crew-esque. (And surprise surprise, J. Crew has a skirt nearly identical to this one, just not in this particular color! See above for link.)

The top and skirt looked a little lonely without a belt, so I finally settled on a thin black bow belt with minimal gold hardware. Because the bow isn't ostentatiously large it works with the outfit. If you don't have a belt like this, I would stick with a plain thin black belt. And of course, opaque black tights are a staple for a fall/winter wardrobe! Pair it with a black pump or ankle booty of your choice and you're good to go :)

Last, I chose a jacket that wasn't black because I didn't want to add anymore darkness to the outfit. I love love love this coat for its unique buttons and almost suit-like tailoring. If you don't have a coat in a similar color, I also think a cream colored peacoat with gold detailing would be beautiful against these colors.

Thanks for reading and I'll see you all soon!!

XOXO,
E ♥

The only thought running through my head was "MY SHOES!!" because I didn't want them to get scuffed or scratched...haha. Needless to say, it was quite a successful day of shopping. If you braved the crowds, let me know what great finds you picked up!!

Friday Feature: Red

Top (Forever 21) | Blazer (Target - Last Season) | Jeans (Rock and Republic) | Shoes (Enzo Angiolini)
Photos and Edits are E ♥ originals

Hello again! It's been quit some time since I last posted and I sincerely apologize for disappearing once again. School and life have been hectic ever since the hurricane and I'm slowly getting back into the normal pace of things. But finally I had time to take a little break and it's been way too long since I've posted a Friday Feature :)

Today, as you can see, a very familiar top is making a reappearance! It was last seen in October, worn by me in a Black Bow Affair! My sister loved the top so she decided to borrow it and add her own style to it. I would classify this look as a dressy dressed down if you compare it to the outfit I put together with this top - but it could go even more casual than this if you wanted!

I love the combination she chose. It's a classic of black and white with an accent of red. She cropped up her jeans, which is a great look for when you throw on a pair of pumps or wedges with tapered pants because it elongates your legs instead of having the extra material in the pants bunch up. It's also a great way to conceal pants that might be just a tad short :)

Because it is a little bit chilly now (or very chilly at times), she chose a gray blazer with an inverted black and white polka dot lining on the sleeves. This little touch of pattern is a good tie-in with the rest of the outfit, and choosing gray instead of a black blazer makes the look a little less severe.

I hope you all enjoyed this outfit, and I will be back with more posts!! I have just one more exam to get through and then I'm home free for Thanksgiving break :) As always, I hope you all are doing well and I'll see you next time!

XOXO,
E ♥
