"Fashion is a statement not a style, fashion does not have to be worn casually, nor outside the runway; Fashion is fit for all sizes for all people of all ages; Fashion is an art of personal self-expression, not an excuse to be pretty, popular, and charismatic."
Ever since starting this blog, one of my goals was to make my way to NYFW. I know fashion week was about a month ago now, but I still wanted to share with you all what I wore. I've had this look photographed for a little bit now, but finally had the chance to post it today! I was beyond excited when I received an invitation to attend the showing for Yuna Yang's F/W '15 Collection. It was held at the 3 West Club which was a pretty intimate setting. The decor reminded me of old romance with the large chandeliers, golden gilded mirrors that flanked each end of the room, sitting above an all-white, astute fireplace. I brought along my blogger gal pal Samantha from Starring Samantha, and we were lucky enough to land front row seats for the show! I shared a few looks from the show on my Instagram if you haven't seen it yet -- it was deep in lace, embellishment, and plaids. The entire show was a whirlwind and ended just as quickly as it started.
Since it was in mid-February, it was actually very cold with not the greatest weather. I wanted to wear something that would set me apart from the crowd without freezing half to death. I also wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to dress up in clothes that would otherwise be a little bit over-the-top for any regular day. I paired my duo-tone, high-waisted pleated leather pants with a fitted black cashmere turtleneck. Topped off with my black rabbit fur jacket I was nice and toasty despite the brutal winter weather! I'm actually sitting in sunny LA right now so this outfit seems so heavy compared to my current weather situation. Follow along on Instagram for some #whereintheworldisrefinedcouture adventures!
