Tropical Floral

Happy Tuesday! We've been having a bit chillier weather that's more unusual for May lately, but that's alright with me because the sun is shining and life is glorious now that it's summer vacation! I'm a big floral girl and I'm attracted to anything floral from tops to jeans to skirts and shorts, even to shoes and accessories. I found this top on my birthday at the beginning of the year when UO was having their additional 50% off sale, and scored it for a ridiculous amount of $5. I haven't found an opportunity for it until now because I felt it paired much better with a lighter bottom, and my lighter denim jeans are all pretty thin and only worn during the spring/summer months. I decided to be bold and pulled from the pale yellow hues in the floral print and matched it with my light yellow jeans from F21. I'm usually not a big fan of Forever 21's denim because I find the material to be uncomfortable and slightly cheap. However, I have a pair of these in both yellow and mint, and I like them quite a lot so if you're in the market for some colored denim at an affordable price, I would suggest these. If you prefer a little better quality, these ones from Gap are also a great option!

This black faux leather bowler bag has easily become one of my go-to handbags which has also pleasantly surprised me. I originally bought it for work last summer because I didn't want to worry about ruining one of my nicer handbags transporting in and out of the city. It's held up quite well and has been mistaken for a much higher end bag than it really is. Not to sound like a handbag snob or a snob in general, but I usually prefer leather handbags because I think they're worth the investment for both style and longterm quality. However, I do believe every girl should own a bag that they can throw around but still looks stylish and of decent quality. What kind of bag do you opt for?? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for stopping by! :)

  1. Looking very fresh and spring-y Erica! Love how you took the yellow and paired it with black for a more contrasted city chic look. I have to agree with you, not to sound snobby either, but leather bags have a much longer lifespan and the more you use it, the softer it gets instead of peeling like the typical PU. :)

  3. Thanks Christine :) I definitely agree with that, which reminds me of these faux leather boots I bought to wear as my "fashionable rain boots" but after a few wears the PU peeled so badly I couldn't even stand wearing them anymore! I see high quality leather handbags and shoes more as an investment if you go with a classic style and it ends up adding up to be about the same as buying multiple faux leather items that break down more often!
