Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite pairings that I always default to as my go-to color palette when I'm having one of those, "I have nothing to wear" days. More often than not, those days always seem to occur when I'm crunched for time and I really need an outfit, like stat, yet my mind seems to decide it's the perfect time for a fashion brain fart. The occasion was a business meeting for a client research project I'm currently working on, and the dress was casual, but dressy....let's be real - what does that even mean?? Personally, I'm completely against the classic office wear, business casual of either a pencil skirt and slacks with some sort of blouse in very typical styles and colors, especially because I'm a firm believer that any dress code can be appropriately followed in a fashionable manner.
My rules are to stay classic and conservative in style, but I always go with some more interesting textures, colors, and a little bit of sparkle. I've been itching to wear this top because I love the beautiful floral applique. I paired it with one of my favorite cardigans that easily dresses up any outfit and kept everything else neutrally black - a no-brainer, always chic option. I wanted to add a little sparkle, but didn't want to go too crazy with bright colors so I thought the clear crystals would be the perfect touch. What are some of your rules to stay fashion for "casual, but dressy" office wear?? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading :)

I love a good Black&White outfit. For me, I like to add in colors and patterns in my work wear. I think slacks and pencil skirts, especially pencil skirts, are essentials in my work wardrobe, but I like to pair them with blouses that either drape well or add brighter colors in my outfit. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfit and love your cardi

Hi! thanks for stopping by my blog :) i agree with so many things in your post! i always have fashion brain farts when I'm most pressed for time lol!! It's the worst when I'm already late and of course, I'm only more frustrated since I can't think of what to wear hehe! I also have those "default" color schemes and pairings which are life savers during those moments. I think your outfit is super cute and the statement necklace puts that perfect amount of chic and femininity to make it all the more fun :) When it comes to "casual but dressy", I usually go with a skirt and looser fitted top, worn with a blazer and some fun but work appropriate accessories. Not sure it really fits that category - but I guess it works for me! Hope you had a great day :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Christine! Haha, totally agree with you. It's almost nervewracking since I'm so crunched for time, yet I still have nothing to wear! Skirt's are always a good choice since it adds an immediate sense of femininity to any outfit :) Thanks for the sweet comment! xx
