Ann Taylor Blouse | Kate Spade Skirt - similar | J.Crew Factory Necklace | Kelly & Katie Pumps - similar | Cole Haan Sunnies - similar | Michael Kors Watch | Rimmel by Kate in Shade 01 (lips)
Hey everyone! Hope you're having a fabulous week :) Today's post is another one of those simple looks that would be perfect for work, church, or any other occasion where you would need to be just a little bit dressed up. I bought this Kate Spade skirt awhile ago, meaning back when it was still unseasonably cold and I got a great deal, and finally wore it out for the first time this week. Why did I wait so long? I have no idea. I love the minimal pleated detail on the front, and really didn't want to overpower the skirt with anything other than a white blouse to keep it extremely clean and simple. For reference, the blouse I linked is the same one I'm wearing, however I rolled up the sleeves more to my liking. I couldn't leave the house without a little bit of sparkle though, so I added a punch of color with my statement necklace along with a splash of red on my lips.
For you girls who are about that makeup junkie life and have yet to try out Rimmel's line by Kate Moss, I highly recommend! The formulation on this lipstick is amazing, and for $5 it's a complete steal. It's not drying at all, which is so important for a red lipstick, and the scent reminds me of the LipSmackers lip balms I used to use as a little kid :)

I love a bold red lip! When I first got mine, I wasn't used to it and thought it just looked weird so every time I put it on, I would always blot it away, but now I'm definitely more used to it and want more vibrant colors. It looks good on you and brings out the colors in your necklace very well! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt and that statement necklace. It's so pretty!

Thanks Michelle!! I love J.Crew necklaces, but since they're kind of pricey, I like to shop J.Crew factory a lot since the pieces are very similar! You can also check out Bauble Bar and Daily Look for some awesome statement necklaces at a much more affordable price. Once in awhile I'll browse Forever 21, but the quality on those are really poor, and a couple of mine have already broken so you have to be pretty selective about those!
ReplyDeleteThank you Joei!! :) I used to be pretty scared to go for a bold lip and always stuck with more neutral pinks aka "my lips but better" shades, but I've found that you just have to be careful with the undertone colors of your lipsticks and you'll definitely be able to pull it off :) If you're more hesitant, just start with some drug store brands, that way you don't waste too much money testing out different colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel!! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine!! I totally used to do that too, lol. I'd put it on and be like omg! This is way too much color! But now I've just decided to embrace it and go for it as long as it's not some wacky shade haha. This was actually my first time going with a true red lip!
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie!! xx
