Summer to Fall :: Light Silk & Structured Spots

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far, and happy October! I've been loving the perfect weather we've been having here on the East Coast because it's right at that happy medium where I can go out in light fall layers without having to worry about extra layers since the chill hasn't hit yet. It's also the perfect weather to transition summer pieces into fall outfits. Today I chose a light and flowing silk dress in a cream color and paired it with a weightier jacket with a mixed polka dot print and gold detailing. I love the juxtaposition between flowy and structured pieces, and wanted to elongate the idea of the dress with a long tassel necklace and a classic nude pump. And as one of my favorite bloggers likes to put it, it's the perfect outfit for brunch! :)

    Thanks so much for following my blog earlier, you have a great blog and I know I'm gonna enjoy reading your posts already because you have such great style! I love this outfit, that Tory Burch jacket is amazing and I might look for something similar now (I nearly bought a lovely polka dot blazer from J. Crew but thought better of the $250 price tag) since I'm attending the soft opening event at the new Tory Burch location in Vancouver next week! Also I want a TB bag asap :P And you're so lucky that you can wear such summer-ish outfits still, it's totally wintertime here already so it's all about the layers, scarves, tights, and boots...
    Where on the East Coast do you live? I'm totally a West Coast gal so I always like to hear about the other side!

    Thanks Debbie!! Haha, yeah I always feel so tempted to buy the new pieces from J.Crew, but then I look at the price tag and cry a little inside...lol. But that's so exciting!! Hope to see pics of the event up on your blog afterwards! It's actually unseasonably warm right now. I live in the tri-state area, so usually it's in the 60s during the day and 40s at night, but we had a stint of super warm almost summer-like weather (like it was 93 degrees yesterday...crazy!). I'm hoping it cools down though cause I'm ready to layer up and bundle up! Will definitely stay in touch via blog comments :) xx
