Femme Fatigues

I wish to travel the world.

Looking at all those fashion bloggers out there who have really turned their blogs into a career makes me lust after a similar lifestyle. They have the luxury of mixing business with pleasure, turning their passion into something that any wanderlust would find envy in. The one thing that always leaves me in awe, however, is their travel style. Because seriously, sista can't bring twelve pairs of shoes for a seven day trip. Unjustifiable. But hey, I guess it's no pain no gain when it comes to keeping up their must-be-forever-stylish-no-matter-what reputation. Plus, you can't fall behind on that blogging schedule!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I'm back in LA again. For a mere simpleton like me, I think it's more realistic to bring two pairs of shoes {okay, I brought four but shh, don't tell}, a standout bag that's easily versatile {I usually also bring a bigger tote and throw the smaller everyday bag inside while traveling}, and a lot of basics to constantly mix and match. But don't get me wrong - simpleton doesn't necessarily mean that style must be compromised. I've gotten a lot of wear out of this Aéropostale utility vest and I seriously think I just have an undying love for its military style - hence my reference to military fatigues in the heading of this post. If you remember, I recently styled this vest with a super light LBD for the summer heat {find that post here}. I decided to bring it along with me on my trip and found two more ways to wear this vest. Stay tuned for another look coming soon that will be a little less femme and a little more casual.
