Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be. - Abraham Lincoln

I often preach personal happiness - doing what makes you happy, being what makes you happy, and never settling for anything less. Growing up I wanted to be a lot of different things {pretty normal for little kids, right?}. I first wanted to be a teacher {because I really liked writing on chalk boards - not enough justification}, then a dentist {until I realized I have a deeply harbored hatred for the dentist - I bit mine when I was five}, then a doctor {until I realized I failed at science}, a psychologist {too many feels}, an author {starving artist syndrome = no bueno}, a makeup artist {that required spending too much money on makeup and not enough on clothes. I choose clothes}, fashion designer {I have no portfolio and my parents are Asian - enough said}, and finally doing what I'm doing now with a side of entrepreneur/fashion blogger {still working on that}. But despite my indisputable indecisiveness {I'm still extremely indecisive... don't tell me it's because I'm Asian and a girl. That's stereotypical okay?}, I always knew that whatever I ended up wanting to be, I would never sacrifice happiness for money. I'd rather be less well-off than make a ton of money doing something I don't love.

I feel extremely fortunate and blessed for what I have today. I'm sure of what I want to do in life and I've found an outlet for my creativity and love for fashion through blogging, which is something I thoroughly enjoy regardless of how time consuming it can be. I also really love that everything on this blog is wholly mine, and all its failures and successes can be attributed to none other but me {no pressure, Erica}.

But let's talk clothes for a bit. I've been looking into getting some more oversized button-downs that are still well-constructed. It gives it sort of a masculine feel, but I love feminizing menswear looks. I found this top at J.Crew factory, and it was quite reminiscent of a pajama top. It was the last one left in a size large, but I figured hey why not give it a shot? I ended up really liking the oversized fit, and with a quick roll of the sleeve and one-sided tuck it was just what I was looking for.

And a quick style tip for feminizing these oversized shirts: I always like to turn up the collars of mine and leave the top button or two unbuttoned. It's a little bit more alluring, a little bit more effortless, and it shows just enough skin for accessories to peek out. My go-to is to layer my favorite dainty necklaces.

I received these sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse. They're the first pair of mirrored + polarized sunnies I own. I usually go for gold over silver, but sometimes your closet is lacking that cooler element. Sunglass Warehouse sells an assortment of sunglass styles but unlike the affordable sunglasses you'll find at places like Forever 21, these ones are stylish while still protecting your eyes! What more could you ask for?
