"Tall and tan and young and lovely; The girl from Ipanema goes walking;
And when she passes, I smile, but she doesn't see. She just doesn't see.
How can I tell her I love her; Yes, I would give my heart gladly;
But each day as she walks to the sea; She looks straight ahead, not at me."
{Frank Sinatra, Girl From Ipanema}
I have fond memories of the song Girl From Ipanema. When I was in high school I was part of the chorus and I also joined the select women's choir that met early in the morning before school began. For one of our performances we sang Girl From Ipanema {choreographed and all} and I immediately fell in love with the song. I imagined this young, beautiful girl walking down a dirt road, lined with palm trees and seaside cottages, adorned in a beautiful dress, oblivious to the adoring looks of all the men she passed, floating through her own little world. The second I put on this outfit I was immediately transported back to that song, imagining myself taking a dreamy stroll to the seaside in the beautiful city of Ipanema.
