"The future could go this way, that way. The future's futures have never looked so rocky. Don't put money on it. Take my advice and stick to the present. It's the real stuff, the only stuff, it's all there is, the present, the panting present."
{Martin Amis, Money}
Palm prints and cut-off Levi's -- vibin' those hazy summer days. I had the lovely opportunity to meet up with the sweet shop owner behind The Bargain District to shop her collection during a beautiful Friday afternoon. I'm a huge supporter of small shop owners because I really admire them for their entrepreneurial spirit and having the confidence to take the risk and open up shop. I find it especially admirable when they are both small shop owner and full-time job holder and/or student. Monique, the owner of The Bargain District, is all of the above: she runs her shop every Sunday at the Artists and Fleas Brooklyn, she's a full-time student, and she also maintains her blog. It takes an immense amount of time and commitment to juggle all these responsibilities, so if you have the chance I highly recommend you check her out! I for one am loving my Bargain District finds :)
