Reflections and resolutions.
Happy New Year everyone!! This is my first official post for 2016 and what better way to start off the new year than in an all black ensemble? Out with the old and in with the old because some habits die hard...or in this case, never die at all. I am so thankful for the past year -- I learned a lot about myself, both who I am and who I can be, and despite the downs, there were so many great moments and wonderful blessings that truly made it a wonderful year. I traveled to three new cities/states {Wisconsin, Chicago, & New Orleans} and one new country {St. Lucia}, and I really stepped out of my comfort zone to pursue my goals and passions. I took risks the past me would have been too cautious to take, and I spoke out in situations the younger me would have been too timid to address. I'm so hopeful for this next year and can't wait to tackle my new resolutions/goals head on!
1) Start something new: New year, new endeavors! I got a head start on this goal the second January 1st hit, but one of my goals this year was to start my own small business. I'm so excited to announce that I've launched my new shop/brand: RC Calligraphy!! Please click here to shop and follow along on Instagram. Starting my own side business has always been a dream, and things slowly fell into place these past few months when I dug out my old calligraphy set. I've always loved creating things and penmanship, so this is the best of both my worlds! I hope you'll join this new chapter of my life and spread the word to friends and family looking for a personal touch for weddings, events, etc.!
2) Keep traveling: Safe to say, I fell more in love with traveling in 2015. There are still so many destinations I'm yearning to see and experience, and I'm looking forward to the places 2016 will take me and the new stamps I'll be able to add to my passport. As they say, collect experiences and memories, not things :)
3) Learn something new: The same part of me that loves to travel is the same part of me that feels the constant need to learn something new. Whether it be discovering a new hobby or learning a new language, I hope 2016 will be a year of lots of new beginnings.
4) Be bold, take risks, and work hard: I'm still learning how to become the best me -- it's a constant work in progress. From my career to my blog to this new business I've started, I want to wake up every morning with the same energy and passion to pave my own path and create my own success.
So cheers to a sweet {20}16! May it be full of love, happiness, and good company!!
Besos,
RC
