Collegiate Chic

Hey everyone! Welcome to another beautiful week :)

Today's look was inspired by and styled around this cardigan. It has a very collegiate/varsity feel because of its navy color and varsity stripes on the sleeve, and immediately upon trying it on I knew it was the perfect cardigan to pair with a boyfriend jean. Surprisingly (and sadly), I don't own a super distressed pair of boyfriend jeans, but I think this sweater would pair perfectly with a light-wash boyfriend jean that are generously destroyed and it was what I had initially envisioned. Guess you know what's next on my shopping list of "items to fill the holes of my wardrobe"!!

This could also work great with a slubby white tee, but since all the ones I own are in desperate need of replacement, I decided to go for some texture and threw on my cropped lace tank from American Apparel which has proved to be a great basic. At full price, I think it was a little pricey for what it is, but in this case, quantity really bought good quality, and this top has held up amazingly well with wear which is extremely impressive for a lace anything.

How else could you see this varsity style cardigan being styled?

  1. I'm loving varsity style these days, and I also love everything I see from Madewell...

I'd probably style it just like you did here, if I'm being honest. I'm not sure it needs to be thrown into any crazy outfit, when it works without too much thought.
