Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
This past weekend I attended a senior cruise that was planned and hosted by my university, so I decided to share the outfit I wore for that night with you all today! I was born and raised on the east coast and have frequented the city and Hoboken/Jersey City area. I've seen most of the sights, but this was my first time going on a skyline cruise along the Hudson River, seeing the New York City skyline up close. It was quite beautiful and a very enjoyable few hours dining and wining with friends.
Since the event was cocktail attire, I decided to go with black and sparkle - my favorite combination for a dressy night out. I tried on a couple pairings, but settled for this one because it was comfortable and a little warmer than my other options. I love me a good shift dress, and if it's structured I'll probably love it even more. I thought this one was adorable with the added collar, yet still cool with the slight high-low hemline. I also love the material, which has a slight neoprene feel.
I paired it with my sequin jacket from Joe's Jeans, and fortunately it cut perfectly with the drop-waist design of this dress. Quick poll - does the pattern of these swirls remind you more of a baroque, renaissance print or the sky from Van Gogh's Starry Night painting? I personally vote for the latter, which is one of the reasons why I love this jacket so much!
