Boyfriend {Jeans} in Distress

Hey everyone! Happy May!!

Remember when I mentioned that I was lacking a pair of super distressed boyfriend jeans from my wardrobe? Well guess what? This shopaholic managed to find herself a pair and now here they are making their debut on Refined Couture. No surprise there. 

I picked up this heavyweight short sleeve sweater from Madewell about a week or two ago and oh let me tell you - it was love. I don't tend to wear tops that are super tight, and to be honest if I could live in boxy sweaters, slubby tees, and oversized, boyfriend anything I would. It's another reason why I love shift dresses: they're easy, they're effortless, and they hide the extra ice cream bar I might have eaten last night. 

When pairing oversized with oversized, I always like to follow my general rule of thumb to throw on a pair of heels to elongate the body and instantly dress up the look. Of course, if done right, this look could also go perfectly with a pair of Converse Chucks.

Following the slightly dressed up route, I layered a button down shirt underneath and added just a hint of sparkle with a simple statement necklace.
