Safari Chic

Hey there! Happy Monday :)

It was a beautiful weekend here, and I was so excited to finally be able to bring out my shorts! It was even warm enough to the point where I was starting to complain about the heat while taking these photos, though just a couple months back we would've traded anything for this weather!

I actually find it more challenging to style looks for spring and summer because there's so many less layers to work with. With light layers, it's more about mixing pieces to create a standout outfit or playing with textures and patterns. I've been wanting to style this top for awhile now, which was actually a piece from my aunt's closet so I classify it as "vintage". I feel like this top could easily go from shabby chic to just plain shabby and outdated, so I mixed it with a pair of slightly distressed army green cutoff shorts and lots of gold to add warmth and luxe. I love my wrap around sandals from Nicole Miller, and I've honestly had these for ages but shoe love never dies.

I totally feel like Jane from Tarzan in this outfit. But give me one second to throw on some more practical shoes before we go trekking through the jungle.
