L'Amour

Hey there! Happy Thursday!

Check out Christina's full look on Looks By Lau!!

Today I'm doing a fun collaboration with a super sweet fellow blogger, Christina from Looks By Lau! It's actually a funny story how Christina and I "met" (since many of us bloggers have never actually met in real life! Yet we've all formed some kind of friendship one way or another). She happens to be the long time best friend of my fraternity little. I randomly stumbled across her Instagram page one day and I was like, "Hey! That's Christina! _____'s best friend!! (Which I totally only knew from Facebook photos)" So then I proceeded to comment on one of her photos like the creeper we all are, and the rest is history :)

For our first collaboration post, I chose the theme graphic sweaters. I know it's definitely down Christina's alley and fashion aesthetic, and it's a trend that I myself have also really been loving. I recently picked up this pretty number during a day trip into the city (NYC) while a friend was visiting from out of town and once again, I was sucked in by the French words. I mean please, how can I resist? It says love in French - does it get more romantic and classy?? Plus, I really love the minimalistic style of the black and white paired with the clean-lined font.

Now let's talk shoes. I was sent these booties by Michael of Michael Grey Footwear to style. For many people, clothing, shoes, handbag and the like are simply that - clothes, shoes, and a bag. But for me and all others who have this great passion and affinity towards fashion, it really is more of an art. These shoes are just that. There is such attention to detail, and I've never really seen so many different components paired together into the design of one shoe. He mixes leather with cork and laser cut detailing that give just a hint of a stripe that really streamlines and modernizes the entire shoe. To add to that, the booties are extremely comfortable and easy to wear, which I can't say for many shoes of similar design with the tapered wedge heel. Michael also adds his own flair to all his shoes with the turquoise accent and my favorite part - a beautiful logo design on the sole! Check out his website here for more images. And last but not least, packaging! I'm all about packaging and presentation, and I was not disappointed when these booties arrived on my doorstep. Heck girl, I was excited when I saw the robin blue shoebox and I hadn't even gotten to what was inside yet.

For any black and white outfit, I love to accent with a hint of gold. Lately, I've been super into gold bracelets and have started picking up a few items that are perfect for stacking. I love the spiked bracelet that was recently sent to me by ShopLately, and if you're familiar with the piece from Stella&Dot, this is a near identical dupe that sells at literally 1/6 of the price. Usually I'd say you get what you pay, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this bracelet and it is worth every single dollar :)

Sweater: H&M (sold out online) - love this | Skirt: Madewell | Booties: Michael Grey Footwear (borrowed) | Clutch: Stella McCartney - love this | Necklace: J.Crew (on sale!) | Sunnies: Cole Haan | Bracelets: J.Crew (on sale!), ShopLately c/o, Madewell, DailyLook | Rings: Gorjana, Madewell, Brandy Melville
