Vested Interest

Cheers to the freakin' weekend {almost}.

It's been a crazy week for me and you can bet that I am glad it's almost over. It's interesting though. Now that I've been working for a little over 2 months, I've started to realize that my weekend style is much more dressy than my weekday style. I'm much more inclined to grab my heels and put on something more put together on Saturday or Sunday than I am on Monday through Friday. Why? I think it's the thought of commuting over an hour in said outfit and also working all day in said outfit. For some reason, it just makes my brain tired thinking about doing all that while being dressed up. It's almost {suffocating}. Anyone else?

I had lots of fun creating this look with this vest I received thanks to JYJZ, which is an online boutique of clothes curated by bloggers. They have a flash sale every Wednesday, where you can receive 30% off your purchase, or sign up to get 50% off your first purchase. Check them out here. When my mom first saw this vest she told me it was very different from my typical style and what I would usually gravitate towards. At first I was like, why? But after wearing it a couple times I kind of understand. It was definitely more difficult making this vest my own, but for some reason I've been wanting a vest just like this for quite some time and I still really love the overall loose, drapey fit of this entire look. One of my favorite challenges is taking a piece and styling it to fit my own aesthetic despite it not being wholly my style on its own. I'm interested to know, how would you style a vest like this?
