When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place.
- Edith Piaf
And to add to that, one little black dress is never enough. I think I have at least six {oops}. But for each occasion there's a new silhouette, and for each season comes a new trend. How can a girl help herself? I fell in love with this LBD because it's such an easy piece. It has a great {but subtle} black on black embroidery, a super simple shift silhouette, the tiniest sliver of skin showing at the neckline, and of course -- pockets. It's that perfect little black dress from summer that you can easily take to fall with your favorite jacket and ankle booties. Though I might be jumping the gun on this {it barely just started getting cold but if we're being honest, I was the crazy who wore my blanket scarf on Tuesday}, I thought this mauve-y quilted leather jacket with studded details was the perfect transitional layering piece to truly make this a fall outfit. To me, everything about this outfit is just right for fall.
P.S. A friendly PSA: Don't skip the socks when you're wearing cutout booties like the ones above. I did the first time and I let's just say my I successfully rubbed off a layer of skin on each of my big toes...no bueno. My solve? Try these socks from Target. A-mazing. I walked all day and they didn't slip off or cause any unwelcome chafing!

Loving this look! Trust me, I have way more black dresses than I should admit...and yet, I always want more. It's all about the different cuts, materials, textures, etc, so it's totally normal (I think).
ReplyDeleteGood tip on the cut out booties. I've learned that lesson before.
