Plaid Miniskirt & Cozy Layers

Hi everyone! Wishing you all a very, very Happy New Year as we kick off 2014!!!

2013 was an amazing year for me, and I'm happy to ring in the new year with all of you as we enter 2014. I'm looking forward to another bright and fabulous year full of many new beginnings! Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to post any New Year's Eve inspired looks for you all because I had a very busy schedule the past couple weeks as well as the coming weeks, so I'm simply trying to do my best to keep consistent with the posts. I do apologize ahead of time if I go MIA for a bit...! Today I'm very excited to share this look with you all mostly because it features this adorable plaid mini that's been in my closet for ages. It was given to me by my cousin, who brought it back from Scotland, which makes it extremely legit because it probably means I could play the bagpipes in it or something.

Plaid is one of my favorite patterns to play with because there's always so many colors that are incorporated into the fabric, which makes it pretty versatile when it comes to matching different colors. I decided to go with the dressed down, cozy route for today's pairing and threw on my latest favorite oversized cardigan I picked up thanks to Aéropostale (Yes it really is oversized...I bought it in a large!). I was so glad I found it because I nearly spent four times the amount on an extremely similar cardigan from J.Crew. Plus, this one is better because there's elbow patches and well, needless to say, I'm obsessed with those little buggers

Last, I want to say thank you to all of you for following along with me in the last year. Though I've technically been blogging for a year and a half now, I don't think it really became a thing I took seriously until this past year when I decided to begin blogging more consistently and also working on the photo quality for my blog pictures. I've noticed my own style grow and change through blogging, and I want to thank all of you for being the motivation that drives the life of this blog! I never could've dreamt of the opportunities that have come my way from this blog, and I will continue to work hard in this new year to bring more of my style journey to each and every one of you. Thank you so much, and my heart goes out to all of you for simply being the amazing, loving, supportive readers you are!!!

  1. Happy New Year to you too! I love the plaid skirt, and even better that it's actually from Scotland! Also, love the J. Crew cardigan, elbow patches make everything cooler don't you think? :P Lastly, I love the background, so lovely and wintery!
I'm very similar to you in that I didn't start blogging more seriously until early 2013 even I had been blogging occasionally in the year before that. And I too have been slowly working on the photo quality (after getting a DSLR camera, etc.). Let's hope that this new year of 2014 brings even more progress and fun for the both of us in our blogging endeavors!
