Beauty Diaries Volume IV: Recent Drugstore Favorites

Maybelline Color Tattoo (Inked in Pink)

 Maybelline Color Tattoo (Barely Branded)

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer (Buff)

On my eyes: Barely Branded (base), Inglot #337 (contour), Dream Lumi, Integrate (eyeliner)

I haven't done a beauty diaries post in awhile, but I recently got suckered into buying some drugstore makeup products and I've loved them so much that I decided to review them for you all. All three are great everyday basics and easily make it into my special category of "daily routine" items that get an honored space in my bathroom instead of hidden away in my makeup storage space. So if you're interested, keep reading for more detailed reviews!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal 24Hr Eyeshadow in Inked in Pink: Part of the new addition to the Color Tattoo collection, this was a cult favorite for all beauty bloggers and gurus on YouTube - yes the reason I got sucked into buying it. It's very comparable to MAC's Paint Pots or MUFE Aqua Creams, but at a fraction of the price. It's a frosty pink with purplish, mauve undertones and sheers out when applied, looking a lot less pink on the eyes (but this is also because I have a warm skin tone). For people with a cooler skin tone, the pink will probably be more visible. Without a base, it creased on me after around 3 hours. With a base, it lasted around 6 hours before creasing.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal 24Hr Eyeshadow in Barely Branded: Also part of the same collection, I actually bought Inked in Pink first, loved the formula and went back for this one. If you asked me to pick one between the two, I'd choose this one because I prefer the champagne-nude as an everyday base over the pink. The swatch comes out as a very pearlescent buttercream color, but as you can see in the last picture above it's a lot more of a nude with a frosty, metallic finish when applied to the eyes. Like Inked in Pink, it does lose a lot of its pigmentation when blended out, but that's why it makes for a great base. The wearing power was the same as Inked in Pink, and overall I love it for adding dimension to my eyes. It has the perfect amount of shimmer while being the perfect shade to brighten up the inner half of your eyes without being too unnaturally white or too close to skin color where it becomes ineffective.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Buff: This product has been out for awhile, and I've been wanting to try it for so long but after testing out a few other highlighting concealers I was a bit turned off since none of them had left a good lasting impression on me and I assumed this one would be the same, despite the many raving reviews I'd heard. However, it proved me completely wrong because it is amazing. I honestly have terrible eye bags (darkness not as much), so concealer is my best friend and a must for me. The formula on this is a gel (unlike other products of its type) so it doesn't settle into fine lines and it also isn't drying or cakey. It has medium coverage, but it is also build-able. It is a highlighting concealer, so it works great for under the eyes and also on the bridge of your nose, your cheeks, cupid's bow, etc. This concealer is a holy grail product in my opinion and will definitely be a repurchase. For roughly $7, it is honestly worth the try!!

Hope you all found this helpful, and thanks for reading!!
