Trench Coat (Calvin Klein - old) | Top (Forever 21 - last seen here) | Bottoms (Lily Pulitzer) | Shoes (Latitude Femme) | Belt (Coach)

I'm currently loving the weather here as the flowers start to bloom. It's finally less cold after last week's stint of extremely bipolar weather. I decided to bring out my bright yellow trench coat since it's one of the items in my closet that really screams spring. I've had this coat since high school (not a surprise since that seems to be a regular occurrence), but never wore it much since it's not a piece that's really what's typical for high school and the color can be a bit obnoxious to wear on a regular to college classes. I decided to play around with my wide-leg jeans and went with a classic pop of red in my belt and pumps. When I wore this outfit, someone commented that my outfit reminded them of Ted (the museum employee) from Curious George - hence the post title. I also love this trench for a rainy day to brighten up the gloom. How would you style a bright yellow trench? Let me know in the comments below :)

  1. I have a Spring trench coat, but that's navy. I don't think I am brave enough to wear a yellow one yet, but I love the color of yours. It's a great way to add color to any outfit, even on gloomy days. I would wear the yellow trench coat with an all white outfit (of course, I've been obsessed with white lately) or even with colored pants like colbalt blue, kelly green, or even fuchsia! Any color could be paired with yellow, it's just having the confidence that puts the whole outfit together. On a side note, I love your polka dot blouse, I've been looking for one (currently have my eyes on the AA one), and I have to agree with your friend on the Curious George comment. It's cute though, I like it :)

    1. I definitely agree with you that the yellow is really bold! That's why I haven't worn it much cause I haven't been brave enough in the past :) A navy trench is a nice color to have though, because it's not the typical khaki color but it's still really versatile. I love your ideas of pairing the yellow trench with some colored pants. I will definitely give it a try next time and I'll let you know how it goes if it doesn't end up on my blog. And as you can tell, I'm obsessed with polka dots! Are you talking about the AA one with the tie at the neck? Cause that one is adorable! As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!! :)
