J.Crew Sweater | J.Crew Skirt | J.Crew Factory Necklace - in navy | Ellen Tracy Pumps | Michael Kors Watch | Stella & Dot Bracelet
Hi everyone! Happy Monday, and I hope you all had a great weekend :) I put together this outfit a couple weeks ago for church, and just hadn't had the chance to edit and post onto my page. For you church-goers or just those who have a business casual dress code every day and are tired of your typical slacks and subdued pencil skirts, I think this is a great alternative. It's still a rather conservative look, but it's also very feminine at the same time. Plus, the glimmer tweed with the pop of color trim really adds a fun touch to an otherwise simple silhouette skirt.
Even though it's still scorching hot out, I'm always thinking about pieces that can easily transition into the next season, which is what I had in mind when I purchased this turquoise Tippi sweater. It's an all-around flattering cut for just about anyone, plus it's made of a light weight merino that actually isn't suffocatingly hot (I wore this on a day when it was near 90 degrees out!) and will also make for a great layering piece come fall. I'm tempted to go out and buy this in more colors...! I added my current favorite statement necklace because the necklace seemed a bit bare. Now whenever I blog about this necklace, I think of Christine from Petite Hues, because she has the same one! You can check out her blog to see how she styles her's :) Let me know in the comments below how you make business casual more fun and feminine! Thanks for reading, and join me on Wednesday for a new post :)

XOXO,
I love love the skirt, the colors and textures are perfect for the office/church. The necklace has been a go to of mine too, it's can be easily paired with almost anything. Thanks for the mention! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing on you! The turquoise color makes it appropriate for any summer event. I wish I could dress up more for work....I wear the same boring old scrubs and white coat everyday.

Thanks! I definitely loved that it wasn't just the conventional tweed you typically find. And no problem :) I've noticed you wearing it a lot over on your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ileana!! Even though I love picking out an outfit for a day, on those days I stare at my closet thinking "I have nothing to wear", I find myself wondering how much quicker my mornings would be with a "uniform"! At least you have the weekends to dress up - you have beautiful pairings on your blog! :)
