Is it just me, or does business casual sound stuffy because the business still comes before the casual? Instead, why not call it casual business? There's so much more appeal to that, no?
I've been searching for the perfect striped silk blouse and I think I've found her. I wanted it to be more structured than billowy, a little more masculine than feminine, while still giving off a hint of lounge wear in the silk pajama set sense. Basic silk blouses are one of the items in a women's wardrobe that I think are the most worthy of investment. It's long-lasting and classic, and the styles really don't change that much from year to year. Plus, they're super versatile, deeming their cost-per-wear extremely worthy of justification. {Cost-per-wear is pretty much the only necessary justification you need to make a purchase - let's be real}.
I was very surprised that this skirt ended up {in abundance} on the sale rack at J.Crew. I do have to admit that it took many many trips to the sale rack before I even decided to try this skirt on. Maybe it's the hanger appeal, but hey, maybe that's why they tell you not to judge a book by its cover. I love the subtle fluted silhouette of this skirt, and actually tried to buy it in more colors the next time I went back but unfortunately they were all out of my size. I think this pairing really represents the casual business dress code - don't you?
