So this is love, so this is what makes life divine.
I've always loved to create. Writing and art were two of my favorite things when I was in school. The creative process takes time and I've found that to truly create something beautiful you must feel inspired. I've come to find that a lot of my outfits are deeply rooted in what I currently feel inspired by, and 'tis the season for a hint of sparkle. I can't help but think of twinkling Christmas lights and shiny ornaments as we approach the holidays. I find myself topping off every look with a red lip, hints of plaid, or crystal baubles.
When it comes to winter, I desire nothing more than a great cashmere sweater. I actually found this one last year at a secondhand luxury consignment shop and it was one of the most beautiful cashmere sweaters I have ever encountered. I like to wear this cardigan buttoned up all the way like a pullover sweater, and I really appreciate that the buttons are also crystals so it blends right in with the overall design. In Monday's post I mentioned that I love the challenge of layering. Well, here's a riddle for you: How many layers can one girl fit underneath an already-fitted cashmere sweater? The answer to that would be three. One of my favorite style tricks is to take a super flowy top and layer it under something shorter and tighter to create beautiful pleating and a feminine, swingy silhouette. I also thought this look wasn't really complete without some sort of collar, so I added a subtle stripe to double up with my pinstripe trousers.
Wow, that sweater was an incredible find!! I love it and you can tell it feels amazing to wear.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a big fan of layering like you did here. I don't know how you managed that with a fitted sweater, but hey - it totally works!
