Because there is so much hiding amongst the greys...
Life is most definitely not black and white...but that doesn't mean those can't be my favorite non-colors to don. I'm almost positive it's a New York City thing. Before I started working in the city I loved color. I went through a phase where I literally had a rainbow assortment of girly skirts and colored jeans; Kate Spade was my jam because what girly girl doesn't love big bows, flirty skirts, and lots of sparkle? Of course I still have an appreciation for those things, but I find myself gravitating less and less towards those sort of pieces for my personal wardrobe. Maybe it's because the city itself is already so colorfully bursting with life and energy, or maybe because the astute skyscrapers that are erected around us have an energy that pulsates through our blood, but there is something about the city life that instills in you a deep love for the color black and a wardrobe that might be secretly begging for a little bit more than camel and navy on a good day.

Is it a city thing? It could be! I don't live in the city (Toronto), but I work there and I've noticed that I wear a lot of black, white and grey. I used to be all about the neons!
