Paradise Lost

"Her philosophy is carpe diem for herself and laissez-faire for others."
{F. Scott Fitzgerald, This Side of Paradise}

It's been a bitter winter here on the east coast, and I've already begun dreaming of warmer days, beautiful beaches, and my own slice of paradise. This top from Foxiedox reminds me of a vacation in the tropics, with its peacock feather print, v-plunge neckline, and the subtle cutouts in the neckline. Being as I'm surrounded by snow in 20 degree weather, it wouldn't have been the most practical or climate-appropriate outfit for me to sport this piece as the dress/tunic it is meant to be. But as with many other lightweight polyester/silk dresses, they're so easily converted into tops! My one rule of thumb when curating a wardrobe: always, always get the most bang for your buck. Trust me, it helps with the justification process ;)

Besos,
RC
