"Do I dare // Disturb the universe?"
{T.S. Eliot}
Amongst the things that bloggers love are colorful walls, particularly wall art/murals/street art/etc. These walls prove to be tricky though because you need the perfect outfit to compliment the wall art without getting lost in the colors or being too over the top. I bided my time well with this particular wall and found the perfect opportunity to use it as my backdrop! This is my second post with Foxiedox, and despite there being a blanket of snow on the ground, I was more than happy to bear bare shoulders.
In my humble opinion, a dress is just a dress until you really make it your own. Knowing that many other girls would be sporting their own twist on this season's Canary dress, I knew I had to somehow make it more me. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic dress without the additional bells and whistles, but I feel like it's almost my job as a fashion blogger/personal style blogger/whatever you want to call me blogger to step out of the box from being "just another dress in just another girl", ya feel? This dress can go many routes, and on its own it's definitely very cool. As mentioned in the last post, I'm usually not that cool...so I went with my take of feminine with a punch. I layered a black and white polka dot tulle dress from the kidlet section of The Gap (yes, I can fit in children's large...) and added a long pearl strand necklace that I double looped and knotted. I've really been vibin' the knotted pearl strand look -- very flapper-esque, adding a classic touch to this look.
If you're not already familiar with Foxiedox, it is a New York-based, street style brand that all the cool kids are sporting {just kidding, it's for everyone, but they are a little bit too cool for school if you know what I mean}. They're now sold in Nordstrom, PacSun, and Nastygal if I've piqued your interest. Shop some additional looks from there spring collection here, pop over to my first collaboration post here to see how I styled the Leanna top, and look forward to my final post later in the month!
