As we draw closer and closer to winter, I feel like the shadows grow longer as the daylight grows shorter.
I reach for many more dark hues in the fall and winter time because they just seem so much more fitting for the season. While putting together this outfit, I realized that dark blue and black is not a combination I often frequent. I actually think it's kind of a tough pairing since many shades of dark blue really just don't mesh well with black, and if I was really going to go for a dark outfit it would just end up being black on black which is timelessly chic. However, I've really been loving the idea of long shirt-tail hems in conjunction with a cropped top. I love the juxtaposition in length and the balance it creates between a top that is definitely casual paired with a top that has a bit more structure and masculinity. I liked how this top was a cobalt blue and navy stripe, so it transitioned well into the black after being broken up with a white shirt underneath. I will forewarn you, this is not the last you'll see of my cropped + long shirt-tail pairings as I have a couple more up my sleeve waiting in my to-publish queue :)
